Jesus is the center of our faith.
Community is the center of our life.
Reconciliation is the center of our work.
We strive for:
- Community: Jesus also gave His disciples a new commandment. “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13: 34, 35). Wherever this kind of love occurs, there is Christian community.
- Discipleship: When asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus replied, “The most important one…is this: Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:29, 30). Whoever loves God in this way is His disciple.
- Peace: Jesus added, “The second [commandment] is this: Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:31) Our neighbors include our enemies (Matt. 5:44), strangers (Matt. 25:43), the poor (Prov. 29:7), orphans (James 1:27), widows & foreigners (Deut. 10:18). Whenever we love one of our neighbors we spread peace.
